The President Dines at Ray's Hell Burger w/ Russian President
President Obama treated Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, to lunch at Washinton D.C. hot spot Ray's Hell Burger. The president had a traditional cheeseburger while Mr. Medvedev enjoyed a burger with jalepenos, Mushrooms and onions. I admire this move. There's nothing more american than a great burger.
I think I'll check out Ray's Hell Burger the next time I pass through Washington, D.C.

"The Runaway General" Stanley McChrystal Resigns...
According to Telegraph UK is reporting that General Stanley McChrystal has tendered his resignation to the president. According to the paper's sources, White house staff are currently meeting to discuss potential replacements.
General McChrystal is currently under fire for his latest public tirade railing against the Obama administration's handling of the war in Afghanistan.
Last year General McChrystal held a press conference saying that the war would be lost without troop surges, and McChrystal recently gave a surprisingly candid interview to Rolling Stone magazine expressing his disgust with the direction, or lack thereof, of the president.

General Stanley McChrystal Spills All to Rolling Stone
The web is a buzz today with a flurry of articles referencing General Stanley A. McChrystal's surprisingly candid interview with Rolling Stone Magazine. According to this New York Times article, McChrystal was interviewed by Rolling Stone reporter Michael Hastings over a period of a month and a half while McChrystal and his envoy attempted travel during the eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull.
McChrystal is on his way to meet with President Obama and administration officials to explain his candid remarks about his disappointment with the administrations policies in Afghanistan. Most agree that he will be taken to the woodshed or fired.
One may recall that General McChrystal made the public proclamation that more troops were needed in Afghanistan in order to win the war. Afterwards, President Obama committed more troops in order to stave off the political fallout.
The bottom line is that few people are perplexed by McChrystal's actions in going public. He'd already proven a willingness to do that. Pundits are perplexed by why Rolling Stone was McChrystals media outlet of choice to insubordinately air his concerns.
In actuality, Rolling Stone is the perfect venue for reaching the General's and President Obama's constituency. The fact is that the reason the "major news outlets" got scooped by Rolling Stone is that they did not want the story.
A vocal and loose cannon of a general who is critical of his commander and chief would have reporters swarming around him if his politics disagreed with the editors of the major news organizations. McChrystal was a train wreck looking for a place to happen. The major news organizations were scooped because they were playing politics rather than watchdogging our leaders.

Faisal Shahzad Calls His Terror Plot an Act of War!
Faisal Shahzad plead guilty today to planning and attempting to carry out a bombing attack in New York's Times Square earlier this year. Shahzad called his plot "war."
When asked to state whether he plead innocent or guilty, Shahzad made the statement, "It's a war. I am part of the answer to the US terrorizing the Muslim nations and the Muslim people."
Shahzad attempted to carry out the latest of several acts of "war" on American soil. On Christmas Day 2009, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab attempted to blow up a trans-Atlantic Northwest Airlines flight. White house administration official claimed this attack to be an act of terrorism only later to retract.
In November 2009, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire at Fort Hood Military base killing 13 and injuring 32. The investigation into this plot is still ongoing, while senators from both sides of the aisle have complained about the difficulty in getting information with regards to this attack. The Obama administration still refuses to call this attack terrorism.
One has to wonder why our government is so slow to call these terrorist attacks, "Acts of War" when the terrorists themselves claim to be committing these atrocities as acts of war against our country. All three of the aforementioned war mongers are being tried in criminal court rather than being tried under military tribunal for acts of war.
This circumstance leaves us with a rather incongruent policy on terror. In essence we are putting our sons and daughters in harm's way on foreign soil in order to locate and kill potential terrorists who want to do us harm before they can equip themselves to do so; but, if we actually catch someone in the act of committing terror on our soil, we must give them every right and privilege afforded a United States citizen.
No wonder we are having such a hard time in both theaters of war in which we are presently engaged.
